Leeds United are close to returning to the Premier League after 16 years away

After a 0-1 win over Swansea, Leeds are within reach of relegation to the Premier League. Leeds, who qualified for the Champions League semi-finals in 2001 but were relegated from the Premier League in 2004, are 16 years away from the Premier League.

With Leeds winning the game against Swansea with two games to go, third-placed Brentford are six points clear at the top of the table and will have one point from their next two games to advance to the Premier League. Leeds were very close to qualifying for the Premier League last season but missed out on a place in the Premier League this season.
